Successful Reforestation Includes:

PLANNING:
Which trees? Where do I get them? Where do they go? What do they cost? Who plants them? What size shelters do I use? Who supervises planters?

PREPARATION:
Ordering trees and shelters to arrive on time; locating an experienced planting contractor; working with agency personnel.

EXECUTION:
Delivery of seedlings and shelters; proper storage of seedlings until planted; coordination with contractor; supervision of planting.

APPROVAL:
Documentation of expenses for forestry and conservation services personnel for cost share purposes.

FOLLOW-UP MAINTENANCE:
Now that the trees are planted, do I need to do anything else? If weeds start to take over my hardwood reforestation project, what do I do? Should I use an herbicide, and, if so, which one? When do I take the treeshelters off? Can I mow the area? How long until I have to thin the trees? Who do I call if there is a problem?

LET US HELP YOU
Our Services...

Full Project Coordination
Our Unique "Turnkey" Service
As project coordinator we will take care of the planning, preparation, and execution phases to ensure that your project follows guidelines and meets approval specifications. We will meet with you and your forester and take care of all necessary details to complete your project. We will provide all seedlings, tree shelters and mats, and we will make sure your hardwoods are planted by an experienced contractor in accordance with your plan.

Materials and Planters
We work with many experienced tree planting contractors. If you want to do your own planning and preparation, we can supply you with treeshelters and tree mats and schedule a contractor to plant your seedlings. You are your own project coordinator, and compliance with any guidelines is your responsibility.

Materials Only
We carry TUBEX® treeshelters in 2-,2.5-, 3-,4- and 5-ft lengths, oak stakes in coordinating lengths, and VisPore® mats with sod staples. Landowners can order small or large quantities of any of these materials and have them shipped directly from our western Virginia warehouse to the planting site or pick them up themselves to save shipping costs.

Maintenance
The first 3 to 5 years of a hardwood seedling's life is a critical period on its path to maturity. Our landowner seminars will introduce you to follow-up maintenance topics designed to enhance the survivability of your seedlings. Understanding treeshelter maintenance and weed control techniques, both mechanical and chemical, will guide you if you want to do it yourself. If you prefer, you can contract with us to do it for you.

Landowner Assistance
Our clients are welcome to contact us at any time with questions or concerns relative to their hardwood project or any other forestry issue. We are not just tree planters, we are a resource for landowners.
